TEDXMALOPST ANNOUNCES SPEAKERS AND THEME FOR THE OCTOBER EVENT

Geelong, Victoria, 1 October 2024 - TEDxMalopSt today announces a lineup of selected speakers for its inaugural event on 24 October 2024 that will present groundbreaking ideas and inspire the Geelong community to take bold actions toward positive change.

Under the theme of “The Matter of Being”, the independently organised TEDx event is staged at the Salvation Army Geelong on Malop Street, with a venue that will welcome 100 attendees including working professionals, students, academics, community leaders, and lifelong learners across communities.

“I have always loved TED Talks and dreamed of introducing the TEDx experience to the Geelong community. It truly means a lot to me to finally be able to make it happen,” said Stacy Doan, Lead Organiser of TEDxMalopSt. “Over the past months, our team has identified charismatic speakers with diverse experiences and backgrounds who can share unique stories with the audience.”

The event is set to be a platform that connects people from all walks of life and sparks a shared exploration of inspiring ideas.

“In literature, the Matter of Being explores identity, existence, and consciousness. Our intention with the event is to encourage a deeper reflection on personal identity, life’s purpose, and the presence of "being" in the universe,” she said.

TEDxMalopSt sponsors and partners include Snap Print Solutions Geelong, Carlon&Co., My Bellarine Kitchen, Chaiverse, The Lounge International Student Centre, Wild Moves International, and the Geelong Chamber of Commerce. “We are actively reaching out to sponsors and partners across the Greater Geelong area to collaborate and make it an event that showcases the unique talents and perspectives of the Geelong community,” said Tyler Le, Partnership Lead of TEDxMalopSt.
